  1. PrinterTester print spooling

  3. Q: When I use the PrinterTester application, I can print Horizontal and Vertical test pages at both 300 and 400 dpi, but I can't print either PostScript test page.  Why?

  5. A:  Probably something is set up incorrectly in the spooling system.  The Horizontal and Vertical test pages are sent directly to the printer port, without going through the spooling system.  The PostScript test pages are sent through the spooling system.

  7. Check whether the print job ever shows up in the print queue, using, for example, PrintManager.  (For information on using PrintManager, see chapter 18 of the User's Reference.  For more details on printing, see /NextLibrary/Documentation/NeXT/SysAdmin/07_Printing.wn, and the UNIX manual pages cited there.)
